“Amazon the Invisible people” Is the first Documentary I made in the Amazon between 1992 and 1995 where I lived and worked with the Huaorani people deep in the amazon jungle in Ecuador for about a year. This epic Doco looks the impact of colonisation and oil extraction on recently contacted and non contacted tribal people and explores some imaginative solutions to protect their ancestral lands. This is also when I was first introduced to the vision vine Ayahuasca.
“Shamans of the Amazon” has become a cult documentary that I made after my introduction to the vision vine Ayahuasca, from 1997 to 2001. It’s a personal and mystical journey where I travel deep into the Amazon with my pregnant partner and one year old daughter, to dive into the traditional use of Ayahuasca with Quetcha and Shuar Shamans. I also interview Terrance Mc Kenna 3 months before his passing where he shares some gems for humanity. This was one of the very first documentaries to explore the cultural use of Ayahuasca and how it has evolved into the western world.
